A Satisfied Life Starts with a Satisfied YOU

If you’re not happy with yourself, you will never be satisfied with your circumstances.

Are You Happy with Yourself?

Can you say you like yourself? How about love yourself? Are you at peace with who you are? How about how you relate to other people? Are you comfortable in your own skin? How is your attitude toward life – is it generally positive? Are you full of hope and do you keep trying despite setbacks? Do you feel safe in the world? Have you found purpose and passion? Are you constantly seeking to learn and grow?

If you can answer yes to these questions, you’re probably good at accepting life’s circumstances. More important, you probably have hope that you can change them if that’s your goal. If you want a romantic relationship, or a child, more financial security, or any number of life goals, feeling good about yourself is a key factor in reaching those goals.

Because I can’t yet say yes to all these questions, I write this blog to push my own growth and share what I’m learning with you. The resources I develop are meant to help you with your growth into the most satisfied, fulfilled, and passionate version of yourself possible. That is the foundation for creating the life you want to live.

What’s an Insanely Satisfied Life?

An insanely satisfied life means you will do whatever it takes to grow into an insanely satisfied version of yourself. No matter what’s going on in your life, good or bad, you use it as an opportunity to grow. It’s when you pursue your interests and passions as much as possible. It’s when you can find peace and gratitude in all that happens. It’s when you are insanely satisfied with yourself and how you’re living your life.

This doesn’t mean everything is always perfect, or that you always get what you want. It does mean that you feel satisfied with yourself in most situations, and you work toward having fun, passion, meaning, and fulfillment on a regular basis. You are able to value and honor the growth process, without having to be perfect. Maybe you even contribute to others and the world along the way.

In the last three years, I’ve had a few lessons in this. First I had a baby after I turned 50. No matter what anyone had told me, I couldn’t believe how consuming it would be to take care of an infant and what a challenge to my sanity and serenity. On top of that, being an older mom has its own special challenges. Then, nearly two years into it, when I was finally feeling back to a more balanced perspective, I was hit with the complete shock of a breast cancer diagnosis.

For the last year I’ve been going through treatment – chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and more. I almost lost my mind in the process. I really thought I would have to check myself into a mental hospital when I got depression a few weeks into chemotherapy. But through it all, I’ve found my way back to myself, and found serenity, satisfaction, and even joy during the difficult times. And I’ve never given up on my passion for learning, growing, and sharing that knowledge with others.

External Circumstances are Irrelevant

What I’ve learned through it all is that external circumstances are irrelevant. Our satisfaction in life is completely driven by internal attitudes.

No matter what’s happening in your life, there’s a way to stay calm, positive, and grateful. You can still focus on what brings you joy and pursue your passions. You can keep growing into the person you want to be. You can learn to like and even love yourself. And you can feel good about all your relationships and interactions with people, no matter how annoying or uncomfortable. You can always feel satisfied with you, if you have the right attitude, and the methods that will guide you to yourself. And that makes all the circumstances in our lives SO much better.

That’s what the Insanely Satisfied Life is all about – giving you ideas and methods for feeling good about yourself in all life situations and supporting you in pursuing your dreams and passions. Download my free Dream Life Workbook for the 5 traits you need as a foundation for enhancing self satisfaction.
