How do you stay sane and centered in a world gone crazy?
You have to have an internal place to come “home” to, a place that feels quiet, calm, and peaceful.
That can be in your mind, heart, breath, body, “the zone” — anywhere you define your inner place of peace.
Without that internal center, you will be tossed like Dorothy’s house in the twister, from one anxious thought to another.
How do you find that internal place? You make good friends with yourself.
You can do this in a million ways. Through practical methods, like treating yourself as you would a friend in your thoughts and actions. Through spiritual methods that help you connect with yourself. Through exercise, meditation, yoga, any of many modalities.
My preferred method is the practical. I treat myself kindly in my mind, take care of my body and basic needs, connect with the things that are meaningful for me.
And I help others walk this path.
