Claim Your Inner Superhero
You are your own superhero! You have the power to save your own life. If you’ve been looking outside yourself for the solution, stop. Start looking within.
For a long time, I looked outside to feel better about myself and my life. I had a hole in my soul where I’d disconnected from my feelings and ability to know and love myself. I thought I could fill it with love and attention from others, and became obsessed with romantic relationships as the source of validation and self-worth.
It took hitting bottom in a relationship with an addict/alcoholic for me to realize the problem was not out there, it was inside. And I started doing the work to reconnect with myself, to get to know and like and love myself again. Through that self-exploration, I found my inner superhero. I reclaimed my strengths and saved myself from romantic obsession. I ended my tendencies toward codependency and learned to develop healthier, happier relationships with others.
